5.5 Flagged Sites (Ghosts and Suspicious)

Two tabs on the Websites page, Ghosts and Suspicious, form an inbox of sites Tangible Cloud has flagged. Both are observation-only: a site appearing here doesn't gain any entitlement; the tab is just telling you what it has seen.

Ghosts

The Ghosts tab lists sites running one of your plugins without a valid license: either with no license at all, or with a license that belongs to a different Tangible account. These are detected from plugin phone-homes; the phone-home itself never licenses a site.

Use it to spot installs that should be licensed (a client site you forgot to activate) or unauthorized copies of your plugins.

Suspicious

The Suspicious tab lists hosts with repeated rejected activation attempts (for example, a site trying an invalid, expired, or revoked key, or one that keeps hitting an exhausted activation limit).

A host appears here once it crosses the threshold: 3 or more failed attempts in 30 days, or 1 or more in the last 24 hours. It usually points to a misconfiguration (someone entering the wrong key) or abuse.
